Hi there.

First of all what I am trying to do is find out if hosting a Cage Fight in my area is legal or not. Whom do I contact locally to find this out for certain?

Secondly, the facility we have at our disposal is not capable of holding 700 seats…Per fire marshal code we are right at 200.
We simply do not have the money to rent your awesome service. We are not trying to make money.

I know this might sound strange, but my goal here is to simply to incur a "membership growth spurt", nothing more, for a certain time period. To generate interest to a certain group of people that already have a common bond.

Through attraction rather than promotion.

There will be no charge and the fighters will all be voluntary. Headgear, chest protectors, ect, ect will be available. I'm sure each fighter will have to sign a waiver of some type, what is that waiver? Do I need legal representation for that?

How do I obtain event insurance and event sanctioning?
There will be no cash reward and no titles. Since the fighters will not be paid or even recognized except at the moment of fight ending, does that change anything?
Do I need it based on the criteria I have given so far? No Purse, No title, No Reward? Is that Legal?
We are planning to construct out own cage, and we have people that we can contact for positions like Rings Girls, Refs, Judges, Timekeepers, Fight Doctors, and Emergency Med Techs.
Given the above information, is this possible? Please be honest and shoot straight. I want to cover all my bases and deal with Reality.

Thanks.

Need to know where you are from to know if it's legal.

It's not as easy as it appears, so know what you are in for.

Someone told me MMA fighting is illegal in Texas. Is that true?

you can host pre fight training or sparring matches in a smaller venue to accomplish some exposure. do you have any fighters that are looking to go pro? you can also have your fighters enter amature events in other states and film it then host fight nights on the big screen at your 200 seat facility and generate revenue by serving food and drinks and selling t-shirts and dvd's.
